Temperature and Compass issues

My compass was off a bit... I recalibrated it and its fine now. My temperature gauge shows 10 degrees F over the actual temperature... any way to recalibrate it or fix it?

 

How are you measuring the actual temperature to compare it? Maybe it really is 10 degrees hotter at the sensor.

 

Bank thermometer, news, the weather channel app on my phone all agree... its 90 and my truck says its 100... now my G35 would be high after sitting in te sun while the car is off but it evened out after 5-10 minutes in the wind. My Tacoma is ALWAYS 10 over.... says its 90 when its 80 and 100 when its 90 etc and it does not get better with wind or shade.

Where is the sensor by the way?

 

Your thermometer is somewhere in the grille in front of the radiator.

The temperature at the road surface is higher than at any of the places you mention. I'll bet your truck thermometer is reasonably accurate for where the truck is.

 

Bank thermometers are stationary, near a metal structure and probably a fair amount of asphalt so I wouldn't trust them.

Unless the news and the weather channel are observing the weather temps exactly where you are can you truly use them as a comparison?

I would suggest maybe changing out the sensor to correct any issues you may have. I don't thing there is an option to calibrate the sensor.

 

I have noticed it gets worse the harder I run my engine... des having t auxillary trans cooler in fornt of my radiator make it even worse? Anyone have a diagram or pic of where the temp sensor is or heard of a mod to move it... or do I just think of it as an engine bay temp gague lol.

 

Temp sensor is located right behind the grill and it's wrapped up with the lines for the horns.
