Looks like they made these packages real. Doesnt give much specifics, but if you look at the one head on picture you can see the tacoma doesnt have that tab that hangs down in the front of the wheel well.

The "larger, off-road ready tires" still appear to be rugged fails. haha! Other than that, I like that it comes preloaded with the trd wheels and exhaust. I wonder what the new suspension is..?

The suspension- it's level and has no "lean". Nah, couldn't be. The wheels are kind of nice looking however.

i think its a way overpriced package for what you get...
It should come with your choice of camo seat covers, front plate style bumper, and a gun rack :D

Speaking of gun rack, have you seen this:

    http://www.autoblog.com/2010/08/12/ram-trucks-debuts-new-2011-outdoorsman-rambox-holster/#continued

"Ram has also announced a new Holster option (right) for 1500 trucks equipped with the RamBox. For just $205, it will "gently, yet securely cradles two rifles or shotguns, or can be rotated 90 degrees to hold up to six fishing rods."

It's good to see they haven't changed the craptastic mud flaps!

So how long till Toyota says you have to have a vin# to purchase those wheels like they did with the fj? Lol.

I'd rather they gave us a rock warrior edition taco. But at least we got something new.

I'm one who digs the Tacoma mud flaps...they are part of the personality of the truck.

    I think they are cool.

Its on the Toyota website now. Its offical. I like it but I agree too expensize for what you get, and the Rugged-fails are a dissapointment. Would have been nice to have seen some real tires with this package. At least BFG A/T's etc...

sorry for the repost then, and I wouldnt buy it either, but I think its a step in the right direction. It shows that toyota knows that tacoma owners like to wheel and mod their trucks too not just fj and now 4runner owners. Maybe their willingness to make these the last year of this model hints that something more planed out and trail capable will be available when the 3rd gen comes out.

"supplement the Tacoma's optional Off-Road package, which adds an electronic locking rear differential; tuned stabilizer bars, springs, and shock absorbers; and larger, off-road-ready tires. "

That sentence is talking about TRD Off Road package... the tires are the same, just different wheels.

    Same suspension as well.
