squeaky clutch pedal

Hi - just bought this truck 55K miles on it - the clutch pedal squeaks like crazy when you release it - I have tried grease, kroil etc. and it won't go away... any suggestions?

 

is the squeak from inside the truck or outside? like is it the pedal assembly?

 

That JUST started happening to me. But I have a retardedly loud system so it hasn't really bothered me. But I am still interested to see if anyone has any suggestions.

I had the same problem. A quick search will take you to a post that will show you how to reach under the pedal and twist a small silver thing. I did it, twisted it a few times and it almost felt like it reseated itself. Hasn't squeaked since.

 

exactly. as long as the squeak is coming from inside the truck. if its an outside squeak its a different problem. that reminds me, i need to return my pedal thing again

Mine has done it since my truck was brand new. 12000 miles later I finally got tired of my local dealers spraying wd-40 all over the inside of my floorboard and calling it good. I ended up getting the bushings replaced in Texas when I took some leave. The tech in Tx told me they are supposed to replace the bushings specifically and not to grease or lube at all. I love my truck but it is all the little bs things in relation to TSBs and clunky transmissions that really make me think twice as a person who's first Toyota was brand new. Dammit I paid a brand new price for it, can it go at least one year before any problems like my ranger that I once had? Sorry to rant...

 

There's about 10 threads on this, and how to fix it. It's a too-simple fix.
