Talking 5100's what to set them at (0.85 or 1.75?)

Hi everyone,

Here's the dilema. I have an '09 DC TRD Off Road, which has the read spring TSB done, and just got my 5100's from Downsouth.

I plan of putting on the 5100's, getting an alignment then putting on new 265/75R15'a

I've read about every thread posted on the subject and some guys say set the 5100's at 1.75 to be level, others say 0.85.

I would like the truck to be level, a little rake is OK, but definetely don't want the nose in the air.

Opinions? Comments?

then im pretty sure 1.75" would level you. .85" would level if you did not have the rear TSB done

if your afraid of the rake being bro then just set at 1.75

Off road or non-Sport (no hood scoop) look good post-rear spring TSB at 1.75".

Mine (w/ hood scoop) looked a bit nose high and when towing it REALLY looked nose high so I lowered to 0.85".

on my 08 i had mine set at 1.75 with rear tsb
with a full tank of fuel, it looked almost a little nose high. any significant weight in back definitely made it nose high.

on my 10 i will be setting it at 0.85 once i get the rear tsb done

I did 1.75 and have no problems nor complaints.

I didn't get the TSB (bought used) but I did install a 1.5" Wheeler's AAL.

I got the rear tsb and 5100's set at 1.75, my truck has a 1/2" rake to it I also have 265/75/16 kumho sat61. I have very little clearance at the front, but no rubbing issues.

First of all - let me say thanks to everyone who replied. I ended setting them @ 0.85, and it turned out great. Looks almost level to the naked eye, though I imagine that will settle out a little bit, which is OK with me. I don't mind a little rake, but it was a little ridiculous pre 5100's.

Now for an alignment and some new tires

TSB and .85

.85 is what i also did with TSB

as for Tires look at the Goodyear Duratracs
They are a work truck tire that is also snow rated.
they were outstanding this past winter in buffalo. '

the easiest thing to do is look at the bottow edge of body and chassis and compare it to road. look at ASHs pic. his truck looks level in pic but the road has a slight down grade to the right and could actually be slightly nose high. just so everyone knows, i think his truck looks awesome.

this is going to be a dumb question but im going to ask it anyway! the rear tsb is the new leafs you get from toyota due to the sagging problem when you put the weight in the bed correct? but if i decided to get the all pro leaf pack i really dont need the tsb since ill be replacing them right? please clarify for me.. thanks a bunch!

I'm curious about the above as well..

Just ordered the 5100's from DSM - and Looking to see if I should just go 0.85" front and leave the back alone except for the new shocks, or if I should go for the AAL and set the front a 1.75". I'm at 38,500k miles so I'm just outside the 36k for the tsb (DOH!!) - so what are my options for the AAL - ALL pro? How much should I expect to pay to install shocks/AAL/ and get an alignment?

New Tires are going on Tomorrow - 265/70R17's! Just a few new toys for the toy.
