    Broke a leaf today.

Anyone know off hand what size our U bolts are?

    Thanks...

    Stock are 3" wide, 6 1/2" long
I just installed an AAL, and got bigger U Bolts, and they were same width, but an inch longer.

They're actually 2.5" wide. Same as your leafs. They are measured inside to inside for the width and inside of the curve to the end of the threads. So 2.5" x 6.5" for stock. Diameter should be about 1/2" or 13mm somewhere in that range. The fat 9/16" I sell are a upgrade, so stockers are slighty smaller in diameter than 9/16". Stay far away from Pep Boys grade 3 junk. I have 1/2" grade 5 and fat 9/16" grade 8. They aren't cheap at $56 for the 1/2" and $75 for the grade 8's, but well worth the $.

I know first hand. I brain farted and had a set made at 3" and they were way too wide, so my spring guy redid them at 2.5" and they were much better. They went on tacoridinhigh's truck with those monstrous 6" blocks on steroids.

For others going through this... Better shops will make U bolts on site. Sops being spring and suspension shops. Check your yellow pages. I had 4 made for 50$. The should be replaced everytime you take em off. Itsannoying trying to get rusty ones off anyways. A cutting wheel on an angle grinder makes short work of a tedious task. Well worth the $50

Anyone who reads this in the SoCal area....

NATIONAL SPRINGS, in El Cajon, made mine. I brought my truck to them, they stuck their head under the truck with a tape measure, 10 minutes later, I had longer, stronger new UBolts, with sets of washer and locking washers, $55.

OCaron, I forgot to mention that benefit as well. Way stronger.

Do the 9/16 bolts fit on a stock setup. Will it fit in the holes in the plate on the bottom of the axle?

Even older thread now, but did you find the answer? I’m getting a lift installed this week and I noticed the diameter of the new U-bolts are just a tiny bit bigger and I worry that they won’t fit through the mounting plate.

Do the 9/16” diameter bolts fit through the holes in the factory mounting plate?

Super old thread, but did you find out if the 9/16” bolts fit through the mounting plate holes?
