I know this has been brought up before, those "mudflaps" and it did it again to me yesterday. I busted two off again, a piece of tractor trailer tire on a rig just in front of me.
This is my second full replacement of them, and I am not going to do it again. My question is, what to do with that annoying line caused by the mudflaps . I do not want to go into the cost of having them painted, but was thinking of that rock/chip protective tape. BAD thing is clear will not work, does anyone make a colored tape, say black or silver than can be trimmed to work!
As for those three holes, well I found two plugs (black) in the garage that fit perfectly, need to go out and locate more of them.
YES.....I know I could just live with it (the lines) but it is bugging the crap out of me.
    Thanks for any info..

I had read a couple posts about the front flaps catching on things and causing problems, so I trimmed mine up about 5 inches. At least they don't rub on speed bumps anymore, but I haven't been off-road much yet to see if they are still going to be a problem. This weekend I'll be off-roading though, so we'll see.

Yeah, those lines piss me off too... but I'll wait and have them painted when I get some extra time. I would paint them again rather than putting coloured tape, cause I would think it would be next to impossible to match it. For now I just turn a blind eye... so as far as I'm concerned they're not even there. ;)

    ya!! that scratch,
some of the issues were in the clear coat and was able to buff out, but then others went all the way through and now you see that CRAB black line.
I was also thinking of 1" wide pin strip tape, and do the trimming as needed, just enough to cover the area and give it some shape.
I was looking at the busted flaps, trying to figure a way to save the part that mounted to the fender, the break areas are clean, but not uniform. It's a pisser!!!
As I posted above to fill the hole, I used two plugs, rubber (black) the kind you find on the bottom of a kids piggy bank, but smaller. I believe these came out of my wifes Honda van (she will never know they are gone). They snapped in, and have a slot cut around them that fit around the fender area, hard to explain. And to be honest I don't know what you call them.
Need to post pic's...yes I know. Still trying to figure that out.

If you find that line annoying, you'll LOVE the chip pattern accross the rocker panels and up the doors that will develop without the flaps in place (unless yoou're lucky enough to live where no sand is laid down in the winter).

    WHAT A SUNNY DAY!!!!!
Went to the dealer to let off some steam....did not help. BUT a gentleman came in with the same issue, he bust one. Thought he was going to come un-glued when he heard the price, so we got to talking. He said he did not care for them anyways and was going to toss the others. Said.."hey, I will take them off your hands, give me a price" $20 bucks a piece if I removed them right now. needless to say jumped on it straight up.
Happy as a fly on crap, guy is going to stop by today, I told him I had a few extra sets of tie down cleats and would cut him a deal on them.
In any case we both win.

ya I did, but I gave him a super deal on the cleats, so we are both happy.
Nice rims, I have been looking for awhile, needed something to POP out at me, who is the maker and size. What about the lift, and rubber.
