I tried to do some searching but came up with some mixed answers...

Ok, I have a 2010 regular cab 2wd 5 speed taco. Basically the stock tires SUCK! The 215's have got to go.

I want bigger tires and to keep the stock wheels, and possibly do the ReadyLift spacer/AAL lift. What is the biggest tire I can safely mount on the stock 15's that would also go good with this lift? I know 235's will fit with no lift but how big can I go on stock wheels with this lift? Or am I thinking about this the wrong way? I really want to sit up higher and have some better bigger tires but am pretty budget limited, any help would be great.

I believe the largest tire is 31", though I've heard of someone who put 32s. I'm going with 31s in mine and changing my diff from the stock 3.307 ratio to one with 4.10 that came stock in many tacoma 4x4s with 4cyl. but i dont think the gearing would be too bad stock. the wheels need to have 4.5" of backspacing according to ready lift. I saw a few who had american racing teflon 15x8 wheels.

Thanks. I went to a tire store today and they said they could put up to 255's on my stock wheels. I was thinking about 245's but wouldn't mind 255's Would I be able to put 245's or 255's on with no lift and be ok for a while? Or would they rub? I saw someone on here put 235's on his 5 lug with no lift and it looked like there was more room even with the stock suspension... Still not sure what I want to do.

to answer your question. the 235/75r15s fit on the stock rim with no negative effects whatsoever. if you were to go any larger than that you will stress the components and rub. the biggest on the stock rim is 30.5x9.5 without suspension. with the ready lift kit you can run 31 inch tires without any negative side effects. if you were to remove your front bumper and cut out the black boxes in the rear wheel wells you could run 33"s. i think you should upgrade your rims if you run anything over 29" tires that is what im saving for right now. the tires will lift your vehicle at half the size of the increase in inches. so the stock 215 are 26.9 inch if you were to jump to the 235's you would gain 2 inches at 28.9 inches therefore one inch of additional lift

    hope this helps

Thanks. That does help. I'm still not sure what I am doing with the truck yet. I would really like it to sit higher, just did the first oil change and for a truck, there is no room under there. It would get some off road use but very minimal. Before the Tacoma, I owned 4 different Jeeps so I really like the off road lifestyle/look but I went with the 2wd because it was what I could afford and my off roading buddies don't go off road much any more...we're all to busy working, that's life.

I will make up my mind by winter. I am almost sure I want to do the ready lift so I will be having to think about wheels and tires at some point. Wouldn't mind having 31x9.5 but that's not a popular size...

Hey, just bought my 08 tacoma (4x2) 5 lug today, did a little research and the readylift seems to be the best option for a 5 lug lift, is this right??

Just run 31x10.5x15 tires then an extra inch in width isnt that noticeable and there are a ton of more options

hey, I have 5 lug too. I want to lift too, I saw these lifts kits on ebay one is the readylift, and the other one is $100 cheaper. The readylift kit says it will lift front 2.75inch and back 1.75.., the other one just says 2.75 inch lift and it comes with longer shocks for the front (the ready kit doesn't come with the longer shocks). Does anybody know what option is better here are the links.

@ Yota: Im planning on using the stock wheels too, probly going to put 31" tires, let me know if you have done anything to your truck yet.

@ C2thegreat: How much will 31x10.5x15 tires stick out, I seen some tacomas with tires sticking out a little and it gives it a really nice offroad look.

I did the Ready Lift kit, put on the largest tires I could on the stock rim, and added air bag lifts to give me even more height in the rear when hauling and just for looks.

With ready lift, I did not have to replace any suspension parts, had it done at the toyota dealership (idiots), anyway they talked pretty highly about the Toytec lift kits.

I do want to find a new shock to replace the stock shocks which are really close to being fully extended. Does anyone know where to get shocks for a base 09 taco that is lifted 3" in the rear?

I have Fat Bob's lift kit on my 5lug & 31x10.5x15 Bridgestone Dueler H/T's mounted on 15x6 stock rims. No issues besides the tires rubbing on the front stock sway bar... The sway bar will have to go. it rubs only at full lock though...

Scout used tire places. I got the Dueler's mounted, balanced & installed for $200 cash! The Dueler's have about 60-70% thread left...

I know i'm a little late but I'm planning to lift my 06 Tacoma 2WD 5 lug. Found a Pro Comp lift kit 3" front and 2" back. I was wondering what size tires can I put? There is a Ready Lift chart that tells you but I am confused. This is it:

    TOYOTA TACOMA 2005-2014 2WD & 4WD 3.0"F-2.0"R 33" 33” x 11.5” 8" 5"
    TOYOTA TACOMA SST LIFT KIT 2007-2013 2WD 5-LUG 2.75"-1.75"R 31" 30.5” x 9.5” 8" 5.0"

Since the Pro Comp lift kit says it's 3"F and 2"R then idk if I can go with 33" tires or 30.5" . My mechanic said I can put up to 31" and 10.5R15 but idk if that will rub.

    Let me know please!
