Well guys, just got my truck back from the dealer. They also washed it, I guess thats so they could color match the truck better or something.

The new tailgate is noticeably heavier. It feels a lot stronger and much more like it should. I also have my old tailgate in my garage, apparently the dealer didn't want it so they just gave it to me.

I'll get new pics of the tailgate over the weekend. Anybody have any specific requests of what they want to see?

I got mine back this week. There is no reinforcement on the bottom of the new design and what seems to be a 3/4" u channel piece same guage as internal panel welded into the top.

Gater saver now installed. New tailgate would never hold up under my Harley without it.

I'll try to grab some pics in a little while. Its hard to get a decent pic of the area.

Look inside the top rail of the tailgate. You can see the physical reinforcement there.

Got mine back earlier in the week with no problems at all from the dealership. They just took the tailgate off and let me drive the truck around while they order the new tailgate. I've been meaning to open it up and take a look at exactly what they did to reinforce it but haven't had a chance to do so yet. Initial feelings are the tailgate is much heavier and just feels much more sturdier all around. Will try and get some pictures posted up in the next few days to show exactly how they reinforced it.
