YES! Mine does the exact same thing! It's annoying as hell!!!!! I know it doesn't sound like much in your video, but hearing that EVERY f*cking time I press the brake is driving me crazy. I'm to the point that I"m considering getting rid of the truck if Toyota doesn't address it, no joke.

Sometimes its MUCH louder than other times, and I've had passengers in the back seat ask me what that sound is.

I took it to the dealer and they stated it was a known issue, but Toyota hasn't come out with a fix. It's getting to the point that I'm going to open a case with Toyota corporate to see if I can force some sort of resolution.

My friend bought a 2010 in April and his doesn't do it. Mine started to make the noise after about 500 miles.

If anyone else is having this problem, please chime in.

Edit: The sound really isn't a squeaky sound, it's more of a squishy-hydraulic sound...

I recently bought a 2010 trd off road and just discovered the same problem. I've read that it is normal and that it's not normal... Everybody that has this problem states the same thing about the dealership when they take it in. My truck just reached 500 miles too. I hope this can be fixed because it is very annoying and I love this truck. Trey, how many miles does your friends 2010 tacoma have on it or has it started for him too?

    Above posters, any updates???

I just picked up my brand new 2011 (AC 4x4, TRD OR) and it too is a victim of the squeaky brake pedal . With the radio on you can't hear it but still, this can't be normal right ? Man this sucks.

    Any advice?
    Thanks,
    KN

I have the same annoying sound on my 2011. Per Toyota of Boerne there is nothing they can do - its just a part of the braking system. I called Toyota's corporate office and they plan to have a factory representative meet with me January 2012. Oddly, the tech at the dealership mentioned that they were trying to locate a Tacoma with a similar braking system to verify if it made the same noise. They didn't expand on just how my braking system is different but I am going to pick it up from the dealer tonight (blower motor chirping, bad door seal to replace) so I will ask for more information. Has anyone heard of the 2011's having a different braking system than the 2010's and 2012's? Does anyone know of a possible fix for this annoying issue BESIDES turning up the radio, wearing earplugs, talking louder, etc. Thanks.

After meeting with the factory rep and taking a long test drive with a tech, nothing happened. He said it was just the way they are designed. There are different braking systems in tacomas: the TRD trucks come with a hydraulic assist and non-TRD have a traditional brake system. I couldn't stand the noise, in addition to several other noise/quality issues so I traded mine in and took a huge hit on negative equity. Very disappointing experience with my Tacoma but much happier with my new F150. Good luck with yours.

I have a 2013 TRD OR with 800 miles that has this brake pedal sound. Drives me nuts! I'll be taking it in to the dealership to have it looked at. Doing a search on here it doesn't seem to be a very common problem. I can't imagine every TRD OR makes this annoying sound. I really hope they can make it quiet and not tell me it's "normal". Has anyone had this noise and found a solution?

Trucktrend magazine mentioned this annoying sound in their review of the 2012 TRD model. They described it as sounding like they were stepping on a wet sponge every time they hit the pedal.

Seems to be a TRD specific 'feature' and YES I could not agree more with TruckTrend. 15,000 miles later same f-ing squeak that I heard from day 1. Dealer says "They all do that, no resolution".

I've always owned GM's, so I guess you could say I'm use to squeaks and rattles. But I could usually track them down and stop them. I guess I gotta live with this one. Other than the brake pedal, I love the truck!

Mine too. Same story. SWEET! And, with only 5k on the truck. It had been parked at DIA for a month so I figured some dust got in. After reading this thread I am happy to see I am not just hearing shit. F-it. Still beats walking. "I love what you do for me".

I can't imagine this is "normal". I don't know... Maybe mines louder than others? I hear "just turn the radio up", But I can still hear it. Oh well I got 2000 miles and was going to wait till 5000 but I don't think I can wait that long. I'm taking it in soon...

Sound is still there in my 2014 DC OR.

I installed some sound deadening and got rid of a lot of the road noise, now this 'swishy squeak' when hitting the brake pedal is much more pronounced. :(

I am pathological about rattles and squeaks, anyone found a solution to dampen or re-direct this annoying noise?

Move somewhere cold. I noticed it does not occur during winter (sustained weeks of temps no higher than 20). It warmed up last week and I started hearing it again. Reminds me of a bike I owned as a kid, with squeaky brakes. Shit sucked. I changed the levers myself and never heard it again. Now if only I could install an SR5 brake system in my TRD OR... hmmm... Any ideas...???
