When I was being careless with my speeds - I'd get about 305 when the gas light came on. Now ...I'm being more gas-savy and have slowed my speeds down on the highway, I'm getting about 340 when the gas light comes on.

2007 Access cab TRD sport 4x4 Automatic. 18 miles round trip to/from work - 14 of which are all highway. Some in-town trips thrown in there also.

There probably wasn't anything wrong with the pump. A lot of stations are limiting credit/debit card transactions to $75 when you pay at the pump. USA Today had an article on it about a month ago. I haven't run into this problem yet here in Boise, but I generally fill up when it gets down to 1/4 left so I haven't quite seen a $75 fill up yet.

As far as miles per tank? I just filled up on the way home. Truck was at 1/4 tank left and I had 282.8 miles on the trip odometer. So, figure 360-380 if I'd gone to Empty.

Very impressed with the gas mileage I've been getting on this Tacoma in the month I've owned it.

I have an '07 dbl cab with 4.0 liter and I get a maximum of 290 to a tank. And that AFTER the light comes on. I drive pretty fast but all of my driving is highway. I even have TRD intake and Flowmaster exhaust which SHOULD increase mileage if anything. My tank is about 18.5 gallons.

That's interesting......lame, but interesting. I had not heard of that, but I'm sure that's what happened.

Thanks

Even more than that, many stations are charging quite a bit more for credit card transactions than for cash. I can only speak for SC and NJ because I've seen it in both states. Lukoil, in particular, does this in NJ. It's because of the almost 2% that Visa/Mastercard charge and with a gas station's profit margins already low to begin with, they have to pass that on you.

330 to 345 is my average. I run it till the very end. I fill up with 19.2 gallons. That even includes the larger tires.

That's retarded....although I understand why.

Anyone can steal a credit card...swipe at the pump and never be asked for I.D. They're getting away with atleast $75 without being questioned.

Haven't seen that yet and I use my card ALL the time at the pump. In fact, if the gas station doesn't support that - I keep driving till I find one.

Okay gotta remember there are a lot of prerunners out there and prerunners are lot less weight and less drag, big difference between a 4 cylinder and a V6, auto and the manual have about 1-2 miles difference and a regular cab vs access or double cab. I dunno why the auto gets better than the stick. I get about 17 all around. So about 360-370 before the light comes on. I am also running the TRD Ivan Stewarts and 275-60r16 and those mofo are heavy (those mofo are heavy). My truck has the ARB 884 coils and everything else is stock.

I've only got about 1600 miles on my truck right now and I get 400 when the light comes on. It takes 18.5 to 19 gallons to fill up after the light comes on.

I believe mjp2 has an 80 gallon fuel cell mounted in the bed of his beast. Needless to say that cuts into its cargo carrying capabilities... and don't ask him about available leg room for rear seat passengers.

565 is the furthest I've gone on a tank. That was doing my normal every day driving. I bet I'd hit 30+ on a road trip.

From my last two log entries at the ecomodder site:

2008-06-17 508.9 mi. 18.13 US gal 28.07 MPG

2008-05-27 565.4 mi. 20.11 US gal 28.12 MPG

I don't think we will have to worry about this in oregon... (No Self Serve here) We have gas station monkeys fill our tanks...
