I just finished testing what miles I would get if I drove 65 on the highway instead of my normal 75. I went from 250 miles at 1/4tank left. To 300 at about 1/4. I eventually drove 360 miles before the light came on. I filled with 17 gallons. Its a 21 gallon tank so yes, there is about 4 gallons left after the light turns on.

Most gas pumps automatically kick off at $75 you need to run your card again to get more gas.

On the highway around 80mph (I'm not speeding, I'm qualifying) I can go about 340-360 miles.
In town not sure, probably 280-300 miles. My 05 has an 18 gal tank. I think the added tonneau cover & the K& N air filter have helped my mpg.

I was under the impression that all Tacos had the 21 gallon tank. Look at the owners manual, itll say for sure, but I read where all the 05 and up tacos have the 21 gallon tank.

I was waiting for the light to come on, and it was close, but I needed to fill up today. I got 450 miles, and 17.78 gallons. Thats after a week of towing a small trailer and 2 motorcycles, doing alot of 75 mph highway, and about 150 miles of city driving. Thats 25.3 mpg, and if I could draw all 21 gallons, I could go about 530 miles on a tank.

I dont know how you guys put up with the v6 and 4x4. For 364 days of the year, the 4cyl has more than enough power, and maybe one day a year, its a little undergunned.
It pulled the trailer, 2 guys, 2 motorcycles, all the gear, and gas cans, and still made 25mpg...This is so different from my Silverado....I actually like this truck.:D

I get around 285-300 mile befor I fill up usually 16.5-18 gallons. Milage dropped a little after putting on the BFG A/t ko tires, they are heavy. I thought with an intake and exhaust i would improve the MPG's but there hasn't been any real difference.

The last couple months I've been trying out different gas stations to see how mileage on my 2007 Taco. Last week was the best mileage so far. 372 miles. the worst was 310. Averaging about 18 to 20 mpg. I'm happy with my Taco..previous 4x4 was my 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo V6 which got anywhere from 10 to 13mpg.

I hate this thread.....something is wrong with my truck, because my mileage hasn't changed really since the day I bought it....220-240 miles and that is what it got stock and that is still what I get with all the extra weight and larger tires and lift.... The best I have ever gotten was last week on my road trip to North Dakota. From Pocatello to Bozeman and again from Bozeman to Pocatello I got 245 miles on 3/4 of a tank that came out to be 19 mpg when adjusted for tire size. The reason I can think of is because it is out of the wind going through the mountains and the speed limit is 55 to 70 depending on what part you are on. And that is with the A/C running. Out on the flats of Montana in the hellacious head wind I got as bad as 13.7mpg going 80 and as good as 14.8mpg going 65! Wind sucks..... I wish I know what to do to my truck to help it out cause my wallet would love for this thing to get some better mileage.

Consider the weight and air resistance you have with that trucK; cap, big tires, big spare. Of course you are getting poor gas mileage; you set the truck up that way.

FYI, twice I've gotten over 500 miles on a tank in my '08 4x4, and always get 450+ miles. 24 to 26 mpg--driving fast but also driving carefully to get better mileage.

Someone siphoned gas out of my truck when we were out hiking in the middle on nowhere. I went 67 miles after my low fuel light came on. I made it to the gas station with 1 Gal to spare.
