About 280 with 87 octane and 320 with 89 octane with using about 15.5 gallons. So i guess thats either 18mpg or 20 depending on either 87 or 89 octane. Thats also a mixture of city/highway. I have a regular cab 2.7L 4x4.

Just got the best take of my life with this truck, mileage wise. 267 miles...but the last of it was all in town so it drove down my mpg. Took 16.8 gallons. With the tire size difference added in there it was an average of 17mpg. 19 is still the best I have gotten but that was all slow highway driving through the mountains.

This is my first post other than the introduction page. I bought an 08' v6 Access TRD 4WD about three months ago. I have kept a fuel log for the last two fill ups. I am averaging 21.6 mph with a mix of town and country. I expect that to increase. One of the things I did was change my driving to a more conservative style. A friend recommended getting a scangauge so I could see in real time my fuel consumption. I have to say it helped a lot. I have not taken the truck on any trips, but we will be going on a 700 mi. round trip in a couple of weeks. One thing different from you folks is I don't have a need to drive much. My wife and I were able to retire a little early so we don't commute any more. The last time I fiiled up was Jun 23rd 08' and I have just over 1/4 tank left. But what I would like to add is that my Tacoma is getting slightly better mpg than my wife's Sportage, both are v6. She still has a lead foot.

The light just came on at 415 miles, it took 17.1 gallons of gas= 24.27 mpg combination city/highway (70+mph hwy and a few hundred lbs load). At that mileage I should get about 510 miles out of a tank.

This is interesting. I got LOWER mpg with higher octane gas. I attributed it to the higher operating temperatures.

I drive a lot in tow, as I am a beer merchandiser. I get around 275 miles on a Full tank, and I made it 320 miles on the highway to the dunes, and that was with my truck fully loaded and my quad in the bed.

I have a K&N and get about 280. I lean hard on the skinny pedal though.

I'm wondering if a cold air intake will improve the mileage.

I just got my 2008 V6 Access cab TRD O/R and for my very first tank of gas I went 335 miles. When I filled up it took 16.4 gallons. About half of it was cruising at 75mph.

Not bad, I used to get about 375 miles in a much smaller and slower 4 banger s10.

Filled up today. 500.6 miles 20.68 gallons. Yes it was on fumes. My worse tank so far. 24.25 MPG. To many 4 miles short trips to work and back. I guessing this tank was about a 40/60% hwy/city split vs my usual 65/35% hwy/city split. Still lovin' my fuel sippin Taco.
