Just remember to look at the entire cost for a wheel swap. With a 2010 you have TPMSs to deal with, and steel wheel TPMSs do not fit directly onto the stock alloys. You'll need new sensors or mounting straps for the sensors, or run without 'em and enjoy the light.

Also, make sure you know the mounting cost for the wheel swap including the TPMSs and rebuild kits. It all adds up.

When I did this I found that aftermarket wheels bought through a local tire store was the most cost effective way to go. They worked the install cost with me in order to get the wheel sale. If you buy someone elses stockers, can't get that leverage.

this is good advice. i was particular about the wheels i wanted so i had to buy them online, but then i called around to a lot of local tire stores to find one that was willing to work with me to get the best price on the tires/install. they even paid me $200 for my stock tires i was replacing.

if you buy wheels and tires from the same place you may be able to get even more of a bargain, but keep in mind that a lot of "brick and mortar" shops are going to have inflated prices to begin with compared to online companies. do a lot of research and figure out whats the cheapest route for you to go factoring in shipping costs, mounting/balancing, tpms, etc...

    Excellent post.

I'm almost thinking I'll roll with the steelies for a while...until I find a killer deal locally...or at least wear out the Dunlap's.

Buying a set on line from a private sale...the shipping can be a deal breaker. And you are taking a huge chance on the product condition.

I missed an awesome deal locally a few weeks ago...600 bucks for Off Road take off OEM's with BFG's with only 500 miles. A deal similar to this is probably what I'll hold out for...unless I get some easy disposable cash, then I may order some FJ's from Frank Toyota or other dealership...or maybe go new aftermarket.

    Thanks all for your input.

Anything, including steeliees, look better than TRD Sport wheels IMO. That said, the best look is almost always custom.

    Cheers.

They do have a little bling to them. I'm guessing that's the intention...because I see the same wheels on the 4-Runner Sport as well.

Nice Wheels all around. I have modified American Racing wheels with bead-lock. 15"x15" and they are heavy as hell. What I would really like are aluminium wheels with the same specs. Any Ideas ????

Just find some 15 in wide wheels and find a welder to weld in the lock rings.
