I like the quality of Westin. You can see them in my photos. I banged them around a little off roading and they stood up to the test.

As far as looks go, I like the Toyota ones, as they seem to fit a little better. Judging from the pics. anyway.

I have the chrome Westin Platinum Series and they look great but they will run you about $450. One thing I can tell you about the Toyota ones is the quality is not all that great, the silver paint chips easily. I vote for the Westin.

have you thought about N-Fabs or Go Rhino's Dominator II?

I mean if you are going to spend the amount of cash on the westins or toyota brand, mind as well spend a little more and get a killer look.

Screw step bars. Get some sliders. Wish I had done that the first time around. Now mine are banged up and basically scrap metal now once they get replaced.

Ed, I've had Westin on my last two trucks and been very happy with them. However both of mine were chromed and for a X-tra cab or Access cab which turn in and mount directly to the frame front and rear.

From what I've gathered from Wilson and some others is that the Westin's for the DC mount to brackets that extend away from the frame at different locations and the step is actually straight and bolts to these brackets. I feel that the mounting by the pictures would be about the same for strength. Quality should be close to the same for either.

That being said I voted for the Westin's as I thought the black ones looked better on your truck.

I wish I had read this post all the way through as you had already made up your mind.
