LOOKING FOR T-REX EYELIDS!

Hey,

I was just wondering where all you guys with your T-Rex eyelids got them at? I like them a lot!. Can you tell me where you got them and howd you put them on your lights? Post pics too is possible! THANKS!

 

You get them off ebay. He makes it only when you order. Great quality stuff takes about 2 weeks to receive.

Look up toyota tacoma eyelids i just bought some two weeks ago and im still waiting for them

I attempted and failed miserably, but having ordered the actual eyelids (mine were $50 if I recall) I can see more clearly how he does it. I just put some saran wrap over the headlight to provide a nonstick surface then started laying the fiberglass mat over it so it contoured exactly to the light. It looks like he only did 1 or 2 layers, I had 4. My major problem was getting the mat to actually stay down as it wanted to pop up from the curvature of the lens. Unless you already have the supplies for fiberglassing it'll probably cost you more to DIY than to just buy them.

then do you just get them painted?

 

You have to paint them yourself. They come gel coated and primered but the color matching is all on you.

 

I wonder if for a black Tacoma it would be just as good to do the eyelid with some really dark window tint...

 

There was another thread on that recently, Darkknight. It looked okay but it didn't seem to flow as well in my opinion.

just a heads up if you buy duplicolor coloring......the super white color is spot on, but the clear is what messes it up....DONT use the duplicolor clear, use a diiferent clear.

 

o alright. Well im only 16 and pretty busy but i have an uncle that owns a body and paint shop so he can do it for me really fast and match the color easily.

 

Got mine off ebay as well. Very good quality. Cost me about $50 shipped. Very happy with them.
