Coming back to the fold.

I'll make this brief. I purchased a new silver Tacoma dblcab TRD-Off Road PreRunner in the summer of 2008 and even got 0% when I financed it through Toyota. I drove it for almost two years and loved it but always wondered whether or not I should have gone big and bought the Tundra. I traded my Tacoma this past May 1st for a 2010 Tundra Crewmax 4x4 with the 5.7 in Slate Metallic. As much as I love Toyotas, I can't figure out the logic in how various options are grouped together. In order to get the TRD package and a few other options I wanted I ended up with a host of options I did not really want or need (moonroof, sonar, etc.) To top it off, the stereo in the Tacoma sounded better. Don't get me wrong, The Tundra's are great trucks with plenty of power and very comfortable but in the end it was overkill to me. The payment of $575 per month combined with the uncertainty in the economy was on my mind. I sold the truck this past Tuesday and am now on the hunt for a Tacoma again. I think the only thing I'll do different this time is go with a long bed. The Tacoma seemed more nimble off-road and was easier to park. It seemed that every time I was driving my Tundra I was looking at Tacoma's on the road. Bigger is not always better as far as trucks go. I always enjoyed this site and found it helpful in performing various mods on my truck. I just had to write and say that I'm coming home! Keats

The 2nd gen. Tundras are enormous. One of the reasons I got a taco instead is that it can actually fit in my garage.

I bought a 2010 F-150 Scab XLT in May (awesome truck btw)...traded it in July for my Tacoma. Size was the major factor in my trade.

Life is too short to drive something you are uncomfortable in.
