Same here. I notice that at the same change frequency, the regular is much darker than the synthetic.

TRD Toyota rugged trail off road package.

0-30 or 5-30 should be fine.

also is it mandatory to replace the oil drain plug gasket? im about to run to the dealer to pick up the oil filter and some oil at walmart. just wondering what else to pick up. also, i heard that it was difficult to take off the oil filter the first time, whats the best solution?

The dealer gave me several gaskets for free. Yes, if you can get the filter off by hand on the first oil change, you will impress many here... I had to ram a long screwdriver through mine and turn it that way:cool:

you dont necessarily have to change the gasket everytime, but as cheap as they are......i would. besides, they may even throw in a few for ya at the dealer since you are buying the filter there. as for getting the filter off the first time........twist the crap outta it till it unscrews, or get a big set of channellocks and go at it.

damn.........that parts counter must be stingy as hell:rolleyes:!!! reuse the gasket next time....just flip it over...........you can reuse it aas long as you dont over torque the drain plug and mess up the gasket.

Get a 5 foot long peice of 5/16" ID tube, so you can connect it to the oil filter drain:

Also, use the First quart as a Funnel. It fits the threads of the filler tube! :D
