Took my 4x4 Taco 2010 TRD Sport in this AM, and they are doing the TSB...just had to complain about the truck not handling the weight of the boat. They are replacing the shock, leafs, etc.

Ahh forget it. Now I'm confused all over again. I'm just going to bring it in on Tuesday and let them do their thing. If they replace them, they replace them. If they don't, they don't. GAH!!

    You don't want to know...

Don't be confused... But yes, I do agree, if they want to replace the shocks, let them... Your getting new shocks for free!

    Just for reference though,

"2005 – 2011 Tacoma TRD Option Package Truck
Remove and replace the rear spring assemblies. Do NOT replace the front and rear shocks. Refer to TIS, applicable model and model year Repair Manual:"

Fwiw, mine had four leafs, and a good hard stare into the bed would make it look really soggy, so $200 and a visit to the local spring shop fixed the problem for me. Five leafs...

Just got mine done today. It now has a four leaf pack, it was installed as a whole unit, not as one leaf added. The shocks were not installed, as per TSB. They did an alignment. No difference in ride feel but he did say it has a little rise but will settle in time.

Just got my truck back too. Ride feels no different. The dealer had it all day though. Not sure why they needed 10 hours but whatever.

mine is in today for the tsb, had the truck only a few months

i had one hard slap when hauling only 300 lbs, but it was on the freeway after going over a bridge to roadway expansion joint that was all funky (you know how they get). so at that speed, i really noticed it (like WTF was that!?)

i just mentioned it on the 5K oil change and he had the parts in after two days.

fwiw, i'll probably do a full suspension lift in a few years, but i do want to haul crap and pull crap before then :)

So with the new leaf pack is the rear end raised any higher than stock?

    Yes

Initially about 1 1/4" , but will settle to about 3/4" over stock US 3 leaf pack height .

Wow, so I wonder how noticeably different the front and back would be if I put 5100s on before I took it in and set them at 2" or 2.5" and then let Toyota "AAL" and give me my alignment?

    Park on level ground

Measure your front and back heights

Add 3/4-1" to the rear measurment

Add 2 1/2" to the front measurment

Is everyone happy with the new 4 leafs?

My truck is six weeks old (TRD sport DC 4x4) and I was contemplating the leaf spring TSB and the steering shaft TSB. But I hate the dealer touching my vehicle.
