When is the 3rd gen. suppose to come out?

Lease on my current car will be up in March and if the 3rd gen. is coming out not too long after I may wait to see what it looks like. Would hate to get a 2nd gen. and like the 3rd gen. more.

 

I heard it was supposed to be in 2012

 

Nobody knows for sure. If you hear a date, it's probably just a rumor.

2012 is the estimated date by the majority of the community. There's been nothing official released to date.

 

Internet buzz (rumor) has it for release in 2012 as a 2013 model.

About the same time we get a new president.

 

Rumor also has it sharing the styling ques from the new gen 4Runner.

Those of us with 2nd gen trucks will probably not like it at 1st...than we'll all want one after it's been out a year.

I'm figuring...if it comes out as a 2013 model...I'd like one in 2014 or 2015.

i dont think they know yet,but i have heard they are coming out with the tacoma of all tacomas.its gonna have bed lights,sushi grill,fully boxed frame,billies all the way around,optional 3,6,or 10 inch lifts,and a motor that does not tick....oh yeah,and a dipstick for the trans.

The 3rd Gen is a myth. Nothing so good could ever happen to this world.

 

The 1st gen trucks went from 95.5-2004.
older front end - 95.5 - 2000
newer front end - 2001 -2004

So, I'm going to assume the 2nd gen trucks:
Mechanical LSD era - 2005-2008
Auto LSD, Atrac era - 2009- 2012

So, if they follow history....I'd say the 3rd gen trucks won't come out until around 2013.

 

they are in no rush to spend money on a new gen Tacoma, it keeps selling well, it has no real competition, we keep buying it, and with the Frontier discontinued rumors out there Toyota knows they have a sure seller for a few more years. They could at least throw in the new Dual VVT-i V6 from the 4Runner

if you think about it too there's the new grille/4 cyl doublecab (6 and 5 lug) era from 2011-?

i think that they're gonna at least continue production of this current gen truck for a couple more years. that's just me tho.

 

Correct. Couple = two. 2011 & 2012.

My money is on a new model for 2013 along with that January inauguration.

 

So long as it doesn't cost as much as the new 4Runner, saw one at the dealership when I bought my truck last month, nice looking, finally went back to the floor shifter for the T-case but 38 grand!!! Sweet jesus no thanks

 

I'm quite sure the new Tacoma in TRD Sport or OR trim...with leather and any other options Toyota makes available will dance real close to 38K.
