My simple stupid tailgate lock mod...

    Wrap around barrel hinge and pull tight...cut off tag end.

    Done!

    No paint scratch issues...cheap (actually free, I had the cable ties)

    Provides some security from the average tailgate thief.

    Zero effort. It actually took more time to take the pics...upload them...and make this post. lol

    Nice, but you could snap that thing with a simple key or flat blade screwdriver. It will deter the stupid ones though.

    that's what i use for my tailgate, i dont think it works tho, because everytime i've had to remove the tailgate, i just have to slide the zip ties over
