Gears on Tacoma too low?

    i have a 1400lb popup that i just towed all highway...i was running in 5th gear (thought i couldn't use 6th when towing)...but my rmps were reving high doing 65mph...they were up close to 3k...should i have used 6th?...and dumb question, but when climbing a hill what gear is recommended? i kept miss gearing that one ...sorry i only ever towed with autos before :eek:

    I don't think there is a specific gear for going up hills, just use whatever gear you are comfortable with, if you are boggin out, drop a gear. if you are redlining, throw it up a gear.
