    that doesn't matter...mines an '06 that I got on October 16, 2005...

if he test drove both 4x2 and 4x4 TRD OR he should have seen the stereo controls and cruise control right on the steering wheel...

I work at a nissan dealer and i hate frontiers! their front brakes are junk compared to the 4 piston tacomas and they are made so cheap. the factory radios suck and barely work. there is the fuel level sensor recall in the 08 all the way back to 05 frontiers. i drop the tank in one everyday. nissan needs to get out of the truck game

The tacoma looks way better, and seems way more durable.

I know I know more resistant to this and that, but it just gives it a cheapness feel to it for me. Maybe I'm old school, and just like a Line-
    x steel bed.

I just could not get over how ugly the truck was. The 1st and 2nd Gen Frontiers were good looking trucks! And then this most recent iteration came out and...blegh. The interior is much nicer on the Tacoma too.

I had a 2000 Frontier Desert Runner (like a PreRunner) and it was a great truck :) I almost traded in for a Frontier S/C but went the sports car route instead and got a 350Z. My family has been Mazda/Nissan for as long as I can remember. I'm the first to get a Toyota product.

I get positive comments about my truck all the time at gas stations :D Thats all the feedback I need!

I think the Nissan is a well built truck. Has great power and a steel bed!
    But if I got a Frontier? I know I'd have Taco ENVY!

The 1st gen Tacoma is an o.k. looking truck? But the 2nd gen is an AWESOME looking truck!:headbang:

The first time I saw it, I knew I had to have one!:p

Sure the gas mpg sucks, the engine ticks, the wheel bearings are poor, the drive shaft is made like ass, But it's so damn good looking!:taco:

It's not. Car & Driver did a comparision test between several mid size trucks and the Taco was the fastest even though the Nisson had more horsepower. There are many factors other than how much HP that can make one truck faster than another.

People complaining about the composite bed don't know anything. Your steel bed is heavier, will scratch and dent and there will be rust at every scratch and dent locations. I've had lots of stuff hauled in the composite bed, including a car engine and some heavy shit motor jack... beside a few minor scratches it holds pretty well. Because beds always have been steel does not mean that it is BETTER.

Steel is BY FAR cheaper feel than modern composites.

I just traded in my 2003 Crew Cab Long Bed Frontier for a 2010 PreRunner Long Bed Tacoma........ I bought the frontier back in 2003 because back then, Tacoma's didn't come in a long bed for the doublecab.......

I will say the Frontier gave me 7 years of solid performance.... never had an issue and all I did was oil changes and occasional fluid changes.....I went with the tacoma this time due to it being roomier

I had an 02 Frontier SC and can say that the Frontier is a solid truck. Never had a bit of trouble out of it. I drove a current gen Frontier and liked it OK, but the deciding factor for me was that I wanted a crew cab and the back seat position on the Tacoma is tremendously better than the Frontier. The Frontier back seat is almost 90 degrees, while the Tacoma back seat has a little more back angle to it. Also, the Tacoma gets a bit better gas mileage and has much better after-market support.

I know there has been some smack about the Frontier on this thread, but I have to say it would be nice for the Tacoma to have a fully boxed frame. Also, the VQ40de is basically a stroked VQ35de, which is an excellent engine.

All in all though, I have a Tacoma for the simple reason that I like it better than the Frontier. However, if there were no Tacoma, I would have a Frontier because it beats an other small/mid-size truck out there except for the Tacoma.

Drove a Frontier and thought is was boring to drive. Large turning radius. Even though it has more HP it seemed slow compared to the Tacoma.

I almost pulled the trigger on a NISMO...glad now it didn't work out. I think the interior of the Frontiers is extremely boring and basic. Makes the Tacoma interior "feel" much higher end. I think Tacoma's get way better mileage also.

Marginally. Friend of mine had a Frontier. With the lift and bigger tires I get about 1L/100km less than he did. Thats about 1.5 mpg better for me. I get about 13l/100km (18.1mpg) he got about 14l/100km (16.8mpg). He has since traded for an FJ and gets about the same as the Frontier.

Currently I have an '06 Frontier and have had zero problems with it. You may ask why I am here...because I like the look of the double cab Tacoma and need the room for the baby. With in the next year I plan on trading for a Tacoma.
