Im just curious, but I was just wondering why you guys chose the tacoma over the frontier. Besides looks what was the primary factor(s) that drew you in. I drove a 2007 frontier for a while before I got my tacoma. I liked the tacoma more because it seems higher up and it can be more capable off-road. That and the engine seems more powerful and the seats really hug you.

How about accessories and mods. Tacos are the Jeep of imports (even if they are made in the US). They're practically designed to be updated and put to the test.

I bought the Tacoma over the Frontier for cab comfort. Never even test drove the Frontier, I sat in it and it just wasn't comfortable in my opinion.

my girlfriends bother is a mechanic and he said that he sees the frontiers in his shop more often than the tacoma. don't let this be a deciding factor, but he told me not to get one and get a tacoma instead

This...and the sales guy at Nissan was new and basically convinced me that I didn't want a Frontier.

I drove many Frontiers before I bought my Tacoma. To me they aren't even in the same class as each other. The frontier seemed cheap and boring. The Tacoma felt like Toyota did their homework and added features that customers wanted whereas the Frontier was just an off the shelf small truck. The Tacoma feels a bit larger on the inside and is much more comfortable (both the ride and interior layout). It's like comparing a Kia to a luxury car... They don't compare.

400 lb lighter weight, better off-road capability, better resale value (which means lower payments if you lease), worry-free composite bed.

Reliability is actually a wash between the two, at least for the first three years. Here's JDPower vehicle reliability survey results for 2007 mid-size trucks in 2010 (3-year study). Frontier is slightly worse than the Taco. Surprisingly enough both the Dodge Dakota and the Ford Ranger are more reliable. http://www.jdpower.com/autos/ratings/dependability-ratings-by-category/midsize-pickup

That said, my 2010 Taco had no defects so far in just over three months of ownership.

If you are implying that the Ford truck is 2nd rate (as many consider the Nissan)...then I would have to disagree with you.

The new Ford F-150 is by far the best full size truck available today.

    And I've owned a dozen new Chevy/GMC's...and only 4 new Ford's (including a new 2010 F-150)

Another reason to hate on Nissan...

They manufactured the Zero bomber that attacked Pearl Harbor.

[I say this in jest :D ...I actually like a few of the new Nissan's...they may or may not be junk, but the do have some sweet looking vehicles...the Z and the XTerra come to mind. And the Infinity X-35 is awesome looking]
