Experimenting with tire pressures....

Been trying to figure out a good tire pressure for my new tires and thought i would share a bit...

2008 DC TRD Sport short bed.

Hankook Dynapro's 265-70-17

Tried lots of different tire pressures...

Found the best is 36 in the front and 32 in the rear.

Anything higher, i start to get wear in the middle of the tires...Anything less, i start to get outer tire wear...Just have to remember to air up the backs if you need to haul anything reasonably heavy...

Anybody else experiment any???

 

Chalk Line Test...Wears faster than the rubber so it takes less time to get it dialed in.

 

Did that...couldnt get a good feel on it...

Chalk wore pretty fast evenly...let the tires run at that pressure and the sides started wearing...did the chalk test again and it looked fine...left it there and the middle started wearing...

So chalk test isnt 100% accurate...

 

I know what you are getting ready to say and im in the process of checking that as we speak...lol

As of now its just the fronts...but its both sides...inside and out...Do i actually need to take it in to check the alignment or can i do some test myself?

I know once before i actually measured the distance with a tape measure, but i don't know if that actually works or not....
