For a minute I thought the reflection of the fence on the passenger side was graphics.

My tires are the exact same size, but I think the red gives it an illusion of not having as much rubber as mine.. I am a fan. Personally, I think red is the only color that the stripe would look good. I really like the center caps. Nice work.

Those look great! I just did the same thing powder coating the silvers black and painted the center caps. The only problem I had with the powder coating was the amount of powder where the wheel meets the hub. I had to take a wire wheel and grind the powder coat off to allow the wheels to sit properly on the hub. I too like the stripe, good job, makes them a little different than all the other fj wheels on here.

Looks good man I'm not much of a fan of the FJ wheels but they do look a lot better black I'm on the fence with the red stripe.

Nice...did you run them like that for a while or did they go straight to powder coat as soon as you got them?

    Wow.

A guy asks for opinions and the one guy who isn't flattering gets flamed. Interesting.

I'm kind of in agreement with NWtacoma -- but it's only because I'm jealous and I want a set of those wheels for my truck!

Overall, I think it looks nice. I'm a fan of anything that's a little different, and I think the red band looks cool.

My 2 cents... I think its missing something. I like the red band, but the truck needs a little red now. Nothing overboard... possibly some red tacoma badges on the side. Anything more than that will be too much, but its just enough to pull it all together.

Thanks for the good words guys! I did the red VERY carefully! Took a block sander w/ 400 grit & wet sanded the flat area, again very carefully. Then took 1/8" vinyl tape & applied it around the edges of the sanded area with my OCD vision. Then masked the edges with 1" blue painters tape, cut a piece of round cardboard slightly smaller than the inner tape line to cover the spokes and then finally wrapped the tire side, inner rim with plastic wrap used for shipping. 2 1/2 -3 coats of Rustoleum red and let em' dry. Took about about 5 hours & overnight to dry. Wasn't too hard, but I wouldn't wanna' do it everyday, hehe. Also, if you attempt this, leave the very outer edge(1/8") of the rim unpainted, so you don't have any issues with the paint being damaged during mounting.
