Now that you mention the GT-R...just the other day I was watching this on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1-31R2piOE The dude starts flipping out around 1:10. Such a nice car, but I guess there's duds with those too.

the truck waits so long to catch the next gear that mine lurches forward once it does...that 500 times a day gets old fast.

If you want it to shift down there is nothing stopping you from selecting 4th . Or are you having issues with upshifting ?

It's hanging for too long ? Lower gears only or all of them ?

Oh and does anyone else think we need a taller 5th gear? IMO, being at 2,000~ RPM at 65-70MPH is way too high...

Last time i drove from houston to san antonio, i almost used my entire tank! The needle was almost at the E.

That is because you don't live where there are mountains. I had similar thinking until I took a trip to New England...on the highway my truck kept down shifting into 4th, and even 3rd, going up hills and stuff. People who live in the mountains must curse the transmission every time they get in their trucks.

I live in the mountains, (the Tetons), and cross teton pass on a regular basis.....10% grades, very very steep pass. I love how the truck shifts. When it locks into third (or even second), it stays there. most cars going over that pass will shift up/down alot as you let up on the gas and its annoying. As long as you keep you foot in it slightly, it wont shift up while going around sharp, flatter corners. Part of the reason I love this tranny.
PS, went out sage grouse hunting last weekend, did some moderate 4x4, including some 4lo, dirt road creeping and some town driving.....still got 22.5 MPG:D Had 360 miles on the tank and was just under 1/4.
