If I do the reset sequence for the oil change light, without it on, will it reset the counter? I reset the light a few weeks back and finally got around to doing the change.

you would need to reset it again using the same steps as when you reset it a few weeks ago

Every time you use the reset sequence it starts the counter at 0....So yes...you can redo it and start your counter over again now that you have changed the oil.
