I've got on '03 Tacoma 4dr TRD 2wd automatic with 83k miles on it. It has been virtually trouble free and bullet proof.

Been eye-balling the dealership here in town that has 2 2010 4dr 4x4's on the lot, one is TRD, the other is not. I've yet to stop in and drive one, just looking them over after the dealership is closed so as not to be bothered by a high pressure salesman yet.

So what's the the thoughts on the quality, dependability and overall likes/dislikes of these new one's over the '03 I currently have ?

For what it's worth, I have a 2010. Pretty impressed. No issues. Granted I have only had mine for a few months, but after being on this forum for a year, I can tell you that they hold up well. Only down side, the rust a bit early.

I've only had my 2010 TRD Sport for about 3 months now AND I LOVE IT! :D Traded in my 05 F-150 and I enjoy the Tacoma more. Although, I do miss the sound of a V8... :(

Only 83k? That's just getting broken in. Are you bored with it?

thanks guys... May just go drive one to get the thoughts out of my mind. The sticker prices just about cured the want ......:):):) And no, absolutely nothing wrong with my '03 to justify a trade, just the lure of the bright, new shiny ones stuck out on the front row caught my eye the other day.

    My 2010~

Love it! and plan to keep it till the wheels fall off.... I have owned Toyota trucks since 1989 when I purchased my first new 1989 Silver 4x4 xtracab pickup.

No issues what so ever with my 2010. I have done a few mods to personalize it, and give it a little better stance, handling, and ride.

Have had my 09 a little over a year. I love it. Few quirks here and there but no vehicle is perfect. Only problems I've had were the transmission issue which was an easy reflash fix and I cracked the arm rest on my drivers side door which I've heard a few do. Hasn't gotten any worse and I don't even notice it anymore I've just learned not to lean on it to situate myself in the seat.

Take one for a test drive see what you think. But if you're happy with what you have I see no reason to get rid of it at the time. I hope to keep mine for at least 150k miles.

I have a 2010 TRD. Truck is as good or better of a ride than any other truck on the road. Definitley powerful enough for what most people will want from a mid size. I envision myself driving this truck to at least 250000 mi.

Do the 2wd TRD's still have factory rear lockers ? I've used my locker switch a couple of times, it was touch and go both times but didn't get stuck ... Can't decide if 4x4 would benefit me anymore than this feature, especially for the extra cost it adds to the price, for the occasional mud hole I find myself in. I don't off-road, just a muddy pasture road once or twice a year.

I cracked my 06's driver side arm rest to this winter guess it was to bitter from being cold but it still bothers me from time to time but not enough to tear the door apart and fix it.

09, 25k and not a problem. Take the truck offroad, tow boats and snowmobiles in the snow and it is great. i'm keeping it for a while!
