Access roll up or Truxedo?

I'm gonna buy a roll up tonneau on ebay and was wondering if the extra $100 is worth it for the truxedo ($455) or if I should just get the Access ($355). Thanks in advance

 

I just got a Truxedo lo pro off craigslist for $175 and it looks brand new. If you can swing a deal like that, don't pass it by It's a great cover, keeps water from a pressure washer out of the bed, and didn't flap too much going 85 down the interstate. That being said, I was ready to go with the cheapest decent tonneau cover possible when I saw the craigslist posting, and I have no idea about the Access.

Do a search under "truxedo lopro" and "Access tonneau".

With a little research, I've decided on the Truxedo lopro. Both are good covers, I just like how the Truxedo has a lower profile.

i got an access cover a couple of months ago and i really like it.
and i swear i get about 30k's more per tank of gas

with either acess or the truxedo does anyone have problems useing the factory rail system with the D tie downs? if you do what have you come up with to strap things down?

Extang Tuff Tonneau

 

With the Access cover you put spacers behind the rails in order to mount the hardware for the cover. This didn't present a problem for me continuing to use my cleats or tie downs... I use them every day. However, it did mean the cargo divider I had was too long, but that was easily solved with a hacksaw. No, really... I just cut exactly 1" off each end of the cargo divider's top rail, flipped over the mounting brackets that fit into the bedside rails and it works perfectly.

I love having a cover with a working cargo divider that fits underneath it! Not sure what other tonneaus out there will still fit a cargo divider underneath it, allowing it to sit in any position (even under the supports of the tonneau).

For the OP, I've had my Access L/E for more than a year now with absolutely no problems. No water leaks (I used the included sealing kit), no flapping, no fading, no worries.

 

Another vote for Extang. It's $100 cheaper and no velcro.

whichever one you get, you should look at our vendor section and find "truck alterations" - big win on tonneau pricing!

 

Sorry I never got those pics up...my camera went MIA. I use the cleats just fine with the Truxedo, easy install, has kept rain and snow out of the back and the velcro seems to hold on well. The only thing is that it seems it is 1/4" too wide for the tacoma and there is some slack in the middle. Maybe it isn't supposed to be as taught as I want it to be. Maybe I need to adjust the screws to tighten down the front to back more. Either way, it works well enough that I haven't been bothered to play with it yet.
