I have been searching on here for a while an still not sure about what kind of skid plate to get for my tacoma that has a 6" lift or does the lift not effect the skid plate? I ask this because when they installed my lift they removed the skid now I'm looking to put one back.

im pretty sure the skid plate dosent effect the lift, unless for some weird reason. But what kind where u thinking of, a factory base skid plate, the trd skid plates, or a baja skid plate (long travel looking kind).

I basically just want something to keep stuff (mud mostly) from going up into the engine and not be some cheap plastic thing.

the normal skid plates will not work, from what 've been told (ie all pooh, ATO, budbuilt, etc). last i heard, fabtech had one for the 6" lifts.

if you want something simple and somewhat for looks, then look for the procomp skid.

I may end up getting one from pro comp simple because I figure something is better than nothing
