Just got my 2006 earlier this summer. I know I have an immobilizer so no one can take my truck without the original keys. And my remote has a "panic" button so I can find the truck in a parking lot.

Now for the newbie question: How do I know if I have an alarm that will sound if someone tries to smash a window or crow bar open a door? I tried tapping on the window to test it out, but chickened out before I got out the hammer.

I'm curious so I know how well I should hide those coins.

My alarm goes off if I pull the door handle to hard or if i let go of the handle and it snaps back hard (when the truck is locked).
