i have a 2010 4x4. i want to fit 285's with out doing anything crazy. im thinking 5100's and a rear leaf. i am adding a cap on the bed and tow my single axle with 2 quads. when my 285's wear out i think ill go down to 265's. any tip would be great thanks.

The parts you suggested should fit the 285s just fine.

If your just going to replace the 285s with 265s why not go with the 265s now?

Any 3" lift will be able to fit 285s.

I put 5100s and AAL on my 06 and was able to put 285s on with different rims with 4.5 backspacing. i had some rubbing issues with the cab mounts, fender flares, and some plastic molding inside the wheel wells.

the 9th post on this link shows what needs to be done to the cab mount
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/wheels-tires/115936-rubbing-my-285-75-16-a.html

after that i just took a dremmel to the fender flares and other plastic molding.

it took quite a few times of driving up a slope with the wheels turned either way to find all the spots it was rubbing but i didnt want to take off too much. as it is now you pretty much have to have your head right in the wheel well to notice its not any cutting. hope this helped

by the way these trucks look like they should come stock with 285s
