Me and the fiance are debating between getting her one of these or the model before these came out. They both look great, although the newer ones look like they have more room.

On a side note the 2010 4runner my girl has makes 21mpg on a regular basis. It 2wd, and she has a heavy foot and primarily drives in town with lots of stop and go with long waits in traffic. When I drive it we tend to see a bit better mileage, somewhat due to the times I drive (less traffic) and I'm easy on the throttle.

Are you checking that at each fill up on your own or going by the computer in the 4Runner? Reason I ask is that my 2006 4Runner regularly reported 20.5-21.5, but if I actually checked it myself it was more like 18. Not calling you out, just wondering if the computer is any more reliable on the new ones.

Also the new 4Runners are expensive. The 2010 Sport Edition, similarly equipped to the 2006 Sport Edition I had, was like $7k more. This was pretty basic too. Cloth seats, JBL audio, 4WD. Sticker $42k!

    nice vehicle the 4Runner is...

but at 40 grand, there are a lot of options.

they NEED to offer a V8 in these vehicles...the new 4Runner...the FJ...and the next gen Tacoma.

Hey no worries man, I actually can't believe I left that out. I check the numbers at the pump myself. However her digital guage is pretty close for being digital. I think when she drives she sees 22-23 on the display. I see 26-28 on the display.
We have a loaded out SR5 (leather, sunroof heated seats, 3rd row, hands free, and more) for around $35.

My sister just bought a 2010 SR5 4x4 and she is getting 22 mpg, but she is VERY easy on the throttle. She has the Blizzard Pearl paint color and it is sexy. Her's is pretty basic, but she bought hers certified used with 4,000 miles for $27,000.

i have one and will recommend it. Very responsive engine, decent gas mileage and the fit and finish is perfect. All the things i wish my tacoma had as well :/

and it looks good in white :)

The 4Runners are super hot. The price is prohibitive for me. And I like a bed.

One thing I like about the Tacoma is getting a great product at a good price.
