Hmmm: 1GR-FE impossible to bore the block?

    There will be bazillions in junk yards: grab a low-mile engine out of a junker and use that block. I don't know that you need to re-bore to clean up the cylinder walls for new rings; wouldn't just honing do it? .

    I think it's because it has an open deck design so that coolant can flow around them really well and those super-thin spiny liners...to thin to bore.

    If there's a disagreement on facts I'll trust Wikipedia way before I will an unknown in a forum.

    Articles there are subject to peer review and the false info is simply removed forever. That doesn't happen in a forum.

    hmmmm. i've had my truck for 4 years and just clicked 50k. should be approximately 20 years before i hit 250k. i'm not as concerned about wether i can rebuild the block as i am about being able to afford gasoline in the year 2030. :eek:
