so needless to say i will be filing a claim with my insurance....just like half of AZ most likley. the hail dented just about every part of the truck....roof, hood, at least 2 of the doors, quarter panels, etc....you name it. my truck is brand new with underr 5K miles. I bought a new truck cuz i want a new truck, not a repaired truck. i dont want bondo, pulled dents, and a shitty paint job....and a carfax report to go with it.

so i need advice on how i can handle this. do i have a case on getting a new truck? if not can i at least get some cash on top of the repaired truck to make up for the loss of value that im sure it will incur?

    any advice would be grateful

No way. They are going to pay you a few thousand to have it fixed and tell you to have a nice day.

^^^^what he said. Unless the damage is more than half the truck value. I'd say not totaled.

you may get up to 10,000 i really really doubt this but, that is the most i have ever heard of for hail damage, this would buy you a new hood, and fiberglass fenders plus everything repaired, or you could leave it beat out as many dents as possible get it looking as good as you can and then line-x it and have a great offroad rig. it would be different. you will love it or hate it.

    .

Post some pics so we can get an idea how bad it is.

PDR guys can do wonders with hail damage and their price is not too bad.

On a Subaru forum I am also a member of, one person had $10,000 worth of damage... The entire car was repainted (in my opinion, it looked repainted, not what I would have wanted). I doubt the car was worth enough to repair, I would have insisted on a total.. I think the downside for you is the fact that your truck is worth a lot.

Some insurance company's are better than others, but I don't think they going to tell you what you want to hear. Hopefully someone will chime in with a success story for you.

That Damage is terrible. Sorry to see that. Good luck to you.

They will replace all the bolt on panels i.e. the hood, bedsides, fenders, door skins and they will probably even put a new roof in. But you are correct in that the rest of the cab will have to be repaired, be sure and tell them you do not want a PDR (paintless dent removal) guy drilling a shit load of hole in you truck to access all those dents.

Also, keep in mind that a lot of the truck's interior is going to have to be dissembled. Lot of chance for broken clips and tabs, and things not going back together correctly.

If you have any knowledge of this type of stuff I would make it clear, where ever you have it repaired, that you will be stopping by weekly to have a look at the process.
