Thanks guys. I'll update the thread tomorrow if it doesnt rain in the afternoon. If the weather holds out, I should be able to get it all done and mounted up.

All you would really need to do is clear it if you wanted to give it a bit more gloss. I actually did contemplate leaving it that way for a little while. I thought it looked pretty cool. Better in person than the pic I posted above.

wow! Glad I sub'd cause it turned out great. How much did you spend on everything minus the grill & grill mod supplies? Im trying to figure out how much this would cost me just to repaint my chrome.

Dang!!

Looks great, excellent work! I think that if you buff the grill, it might get a glossy look. But overall it's great.

Thanks! I dont have the receipt in front of me, but I know I spent about 65 bux. However, that included some epoxy and putty. Sooo, I dunno, maybe about 45 if you subtract the can of trim paint too?

Thanks! Yea, its recommended to wait at least 48 hours if you plan to use any type of polish or compound on it. Right now, the finish looks mimics that of the front bumper, and I know it'll never be as clear as the hood, so I may just leave it like this. Just add some wax on it after a little while.

Last question (I promise). Did you buy it local? I'm not sure where to buy color matched paint.

hah, no problem man. I bought everything at my local pep boys. I dont know what color code others would need. I only knew IIP was 8P4 from another member helping me out. The rest of the paint is just standard.
If you do color match your grille, post up the info here in case someone else needs the Duplicolor paint code
Let me know if you have any other questions!!

OP, try a polish like Meguirs. It shines up the clear coat and may make it more clear and shiney like your hood.

Just a note for you guys with superwhites, spray something else first as a test. In my opinion, the duplicolor is more cream colored and is noticeably different.

I may try a very mild polish, just have to wait at least 48 hours for the clear to fully cure.
