Which TRD CAI to get, the old or new and "improved"?

    Present: 2016 White TRD Sport DC Past: 2010 MGM TRD Sport AC 4x4
    I say "improved" because I like the look of the old one better (the brushed aluminum cover) than the new cover (black plastic with red lettering).

    I know the new cover is supposed to be "street legal" but in Alabama where smog isn't an issue, I don't think that part will matter to me either way.

    Which CAI should I go with and why?

    I would go with the first one, IMO Afe makes better products than AEM(ive had both intakes). Also the new ones have issues with leaning out engines which is bad for super/turbocharged engines. It may not effect you in your case but still plan ahead.

    both are legal, and there wouldn't be that much of a difference to justify the higher price of the new one. i'd look into the aFe intake as well, same intake as the older TRD just cheaper

    eh, i took a guess, absolutely no research involve...my bad lol

    BUT the aFe is legal :D which is the one i have

    Yeah mine isnt legal the stage II si same as the TRD one but just a little less expensive at the time

    yeah but with the AEM style one just the "Stage II" one they give you a carb sticker and it states that is in process of passing exemption,

    and its said that for the last two years

    well i've got the stage 2 si which is apparently not legal after doing some searching around....guess i lucked out and they sent a carb sticker on accident...feel free to ignore all my previous posts lol
