cut it?..or find the source and un-splice it. I would imagine it is probably spliced in behind that side tail light.

Those rails on the sides of the bed do pop right up, there s a tab to the immediate right of that wire in your picture that you have to remove (with a flathead screwdriver) and then the rail will be free to be pulled up.

Before you just cut it you might want to pull the tail light off on that side and see if there isn't a splice, or maybe even a custom connecter inline with the tail lights. Many caps are wired this way. If it's there you could just take the splice or connector out right there and pull the wires through the little hole. Should clean up easily, might want to pop a dollup of silicon sealant on the hole and you're all set.

The 2 10mm bolts on the inside and then pull straight out toward the rear not the side. Then pull the connectors apart and then pull wires out. put the light back on. I did mine a month ago less than 10 min. GOOD LUCK

I just went thru this. Pull the light as said, it's a couple of bolts and clips. Don't use any tools to try and pry it out. You'll probably find a few "vampire taps" which you should remove and then tape the factory wires.
