Wet Okole Seat Cover installation...

So I should be getting my new wet okoles soon. Few questions when installing the rear covers do i need to remove that plastic compartment behind the seat to remove the rear seat back?

 

I just removed the plastic compartments. The bottoms of the back seat are easy because they flip up. The backs lean forward, and once the compartments are out of the way, you can get the back cover pieces on easy. I did have to remove the front seats to do those.

 

Ok I trried removing palstic compartments but couldnt get them to budge. I removed three bolts and nothing. Is ther something I'm missing?

 

It wiggles and clicks, but nothing. Bump before i break somwthin............

 

You have to remove the one on the driver's side first. The small one. And they have the push in retainers like some dash pieces. You have to pry just a bit.

You don't need to remove either. Just install the covers. It ain't hard folks.

The front are a MUCH bigger PITA unless you remove them from the vehicle.

 

Thanks! You're gonna like the covers. Just take your time and get them nice and tight. The fit and quality is outstanding. Be sure to push the cutouts under the brackets for the headrests and pull the latch releases through the holes; no one will know they are covers.

 

Ok cool so the little grey plastic piece that the head rest fit into just pops out and slides back in right?

 

You don't have to remove them. They will fit through the holes once you get the covers on. It was the last thing I did. You may have to take them off if/when you go to take the covers off.

 

I was going to say I didn't have to remove anything at all to install mine

 

All this WO talk is making me want mine more and more...hahaha....should see them tomorrow hopefully

On my SR5 seats, The fronts under the driver's seat are two stretchy strings that hold the oem covers. You have to unattach from underneath in order to get the Wet Okole cover on & attached.
Do not know if the TRD seats or airbag seats are different.

 

They go over the factory seat covers, right?

 

I put mine on over the factory seat material. They looked brand new (taupe) when I took the W.O. off to trade it in, 4+ yrs.

 

Whew, glad to hear you don't have to disassemble anything to get a set of seat covers on. I was beginning to think it would take me longer than expected just to install seat covers!

ok... I have mine.. 2015 Sport.. only fronts did I buy.
1. I cannot get the drivers side Headrest off.. Yeah.. I pressed the release button.. nothing...
so PAX side..... I got that headrest off.. so there is a flap with velcro on the front of the seat.. presume this tucks in between the seat and the back?
does it attach to something?

Seat cushion.. when I look for an access to pull the straps, I hit SOLID what feels like a plastic barrier so I cannot get between the cushion and the back to drop down the straps to pull through.
any suggestions... I feel a bit silly not even able to do this..
