Im thinking this could be the case. Though I havent tried it in the Tacoma, I DID try it in my boat. The fuel filter was plugged with rubber hose peices within half a tank run thru the engine. upon disassembly of the fuel system, I found the rubber hoses to be severly deteriorated.

And it makes the driveshaft into a one-piece unit so that you no longer have to worry about vibration.

Acetone is a solvent, so it probably cleaned up a gunked up engine.

Makes sense. That engine had 140k miles on it...but come to think of it...so does my Tacoma.

    hmmm...

Regardless, I still keep a jug of it in my truck box, because it is an amazing multi-purpose solvent/cleaner. Maybe i'll add some on my next fill-up.

It's all about converting to a hydrogen fuel cell to mix the gas... I have a friend at work who is working on his own cell, I'll try and fill you in with his results. He's anticipating a 100% increase in MPG's. Apparently people near his area have been running similar devices for a while now with out issue. He's got an old Jeep so we'll let him be the guinnie pig for us ;)

I tried Acetone a good 30 years ago in a carburated Honda Civic. Ate the seals and o-rings right out of the carb in about 5,000 miles. But it did run better while it was doing it. Better gas mileage? Don't know, that was before we cared how many mpgs we got. AS far as fuel injector cleaner, yes. Have been using for years about every 1500 miles in ever car we own, plus a few bikes. That's even buying good gas, chevron, texaco . If your running cheap gas you should even do it more often. Its like a tune up in a bottle. If you don't use it then keep throwing money away on extra gas. You are not going to make your car get better gas mileage than it was made too, but you will get what you used too again.
