I got my bakflip this past weekend and installed it. i also did some other minor addons like a folding hitch step, spare tire lock, license plate frames, cargo bar (got free with the bakflip) and a cargo net storage for the bed.

I think the bakflip looks good with my tacoma with it being pretty much flush with the top of the bed. took about an 1hr to put on. would of taken less but i had to download the instuctions online becuase the manual it came with was not for the tacoma.

No. It has aluminum blocks with bolts through them that slide into the rails. Just need to take the plastic caps off near the tailgate to slide them in. I had one of the first gen ones before it fell apart.

yeh like piercedtiger said with the aluminum pieces. they go into the rails themselves with a bolt sticking out. the bakflip rails attach to that. i actually was able to shove the plastic ends back on. I was going for the retactable one too but yeh its way to much. I got lucky with this one on ebay brand new for $500...cheapest i've seen compared to others on this forum.

I got the step at pepboys for $22 only. made of die cast aluminum.

thanks man, i like getting getting quality products but like them better when i find them cheap so when i found the cable lock at Home depot for $5 and the Club weatherproof lock (3pk keyed alike) for $7 i was like jackpot.

    thanks man.

no it doesnt rattle at all. and so far i sprayed it with a garden hose and no leaks so far. total cost as $500...free ship, no tax, and a free cargo bar on ebay.

and to be honest my ride is a lot smoother down the road as i don't have a lot of drag anymore. i noticed it right away.

    OK. Thanks for the info

Are you affiliated with the company?

What part of Socal are you in. If close by Lakewood, can I visualize it?
