Liked the size and looks of the 2nd gen so much I sold my 1st gen that I had absolutely no issues with to get one. Haven't looked back. Double cab on the 2nd gen Tacomas is so much nicer. The 4.0L engine is great also. Mine is mostly on road, but I can go to the high country if I want.

    stock..for now
I owned a 4dr Lexus (wife), and a 4dr BMW(mine). Owned many trucks in years past but has been a while. Wife bought a new leather chair at a store that did not deliver... had to go to home depot and rent that stupid rent-by-the-hour truck they have to use for 30 minutes to get this stupid chair... Bimmer was gone days later. I have a 4dr TRD bad boy now... and I'm ready for whatever chair the world throws at me.:)

I like the look, and that toyota stood by their product when they paid me 9k for my rusted out gen 1.

And a bit of offroading. :D

I had an 81 3/4 ton two wheel drive with a zillion miles and loved it. Back then they had those custom extended cab P/U's. I can't remember what they were called, but I thought they were cool... So I'd say I fell in love with the double cab, decades before Toyota built any, and was finally able to get one.

I do a lot of fishing, hunting, camping, and outdoor activities. Needed something that I can haul gears around. And needed something to haul stuff for the house.

I drive a Tacoma DC SB for work. It proved itself to be a super reliable truck, so had to get one for myself.

Stick on hood scoop from Autozone.
Definitely because of the cubby holes in the bed.

If you're a home owner, you gotta' have a truck. You might as well get a good one.

Finally gave into the wife's chagrin of driving my 82 prerunner terrorist looking 500k red/blue crazy truck for 27 yrs with the temptation of the 05 access cab to take it's place. Now my shoulder doesn't touch the door pillar and I can stretch out with room to lean chair back and still have leg room...............and it's a Tacoma, what else was there? :D

I always wanted my own truck after years of driving the trucks on my family's farm. The current Tacoma is by far the best looking mid size truck out there, hands down. Even though I've been having some problems with the truck, I still think that Toyotas are the most reliable vehicles on the road, compared to the competition. Did I mention that Taco's are also natural chick magnets :D

This is my third one...needed 4X4 to get to the new house on the mountain, but like the new fetures of the 2nd gens.

I've had many trucks in the past. Always useful for their utility.
I didn't want another full size truck. The Tacoma meets and exceeds my needs and is considered among the top mid sized trucks.

i put on moto metal 950 chrome wheels, afe cold air intake, flowmaster muffler with dual exhaust,JBA headers, trifold extang bed tarp, stainless steel stepside bars,3" lift in front,3" lift in the rear, chrome door handle covers, chrome grille insert cover, tinted windows with blacked out visor, and taillight covers
i had a 1998 extended cab tacoma for 12 years and the only thing I did the whole time i had it was replaced the power steering pump once and that was due to bigger wheels, I now have a 08 crew cab tacoma and the history of my first tacoma was a good enough reason for me to buy another one.

I wanted the ultimate off road vehicle I could purchase off the showroom floor (Jeep Rubicon) but a truck was going to be far more practical for my outdoor lifestyle of camping, hunting, cycling, skiing, etc. The most off road capable truck made is the Tacoma TRD Off Road. Here I sit.

When I got it narrowed down to brand and what size engine I orginally wanted a FJ but at the time they only ran on premium so I got a Tacoma. I just wish I spulrged a little and got a all white sport or a 4x4, and not a base model oh well. BTW I just payed it off last month waiting on the title.
