Hi guys. I have an 05 tacoma trd offroad. All is stock except a flowmaster exhaust I put on. I noticed this today. When I slowly move forward from a complete stop, I hear a kind of electric engine sound or whinning noise comming from the front end. Its not at all loud but I was just wondering if this is normal. Thanks.

Do you hear this noise after starting it up, and then putting it into gear and moving forward?

Well, I was going to suggest it was the ABS. But that's only after first start up and not every time you move forward from a full stop.

To be honest with you I'm not sure what it is or could be. It's an 05, I'm sure if it was something major you would have already had some problems by now. Could be a lot of different things.
I say just keep driving it and not worry about it. Keep up on maintenance and if the sound gets worse or more frequent, it might be time to take it in. I'm sure you already have opened up the hood and took a look, if you haven't you should take a look.

Hopefully some one else can chime in and give some suggestions on what it could be.
