I posted yesterday that I had a bad smell coming out of the vents, so I went and cleaned out my cabin filter and put a dryer sheet above it when I put it back in. Now the smell is so much better, and when I turn on the AC a nice fresh clean smell comes out of the vents! Probably have to change it out pretty often, but it smells really good for now. Posted some pics but none was really needed!:D Has anyone else tried this?

I'm going to have to try that. The previous owner must have smoked 3 cartons a day in this truck. I have tried just masking it with smelly stuff but ever so often. It gets ya.

Did it smell like a dead mouse? When I brought mine in to the dealer for it's 10k service the dealer told me they think a mouse got stuck in the vents and must have died. They wanted to charge me $380 to pull the vents apart to look for the mouse. I told them they where nuts. Turns out it was just stale air from the A/C. Cleaned out the filter and the smell went away.

I have used TSP to get rid of the smell of nicotine .......I tore apart the a/c vent system and wiped it down with it............worked really well..............

I had a pretty bad smell in my truck, and I found these air freshners that have odor eliminators, from the same company that makes those little trees... Same concept but you get to choose your scent...
