toyota emblem

maybe i searched the wrong key words but how do i properly take off the toyota emblem on the grille and paint it?

 

I used a screw driver to take mine off. But be careful. There are 3 small plastic tabs that hold it on the back and they can be easily broken.

 

yea i saw them i was wondering how to pop it out without breaking them i'll try a scew driver. thank

 

Squeeze the tabs together on one side....and once you get one side loose, the other will come loose easier.

 

and once i'm done it'll just snap right back in?

 

Yep. Sure will. Just gotta be carefull you don't break one of the tabs......always easier if it is warm outside.

 

With the hood open, if you look between the grille and radiator you can see the two chrome prongs/catches sticking through the back of the grille. Reach your hands down, one for each prong, and depress slightly with your thumbs while pushing towards the front of the truck/yourself. Push forward as far as it it will travel, which should be until your thumbs reach the back of the grille. Once there, move your attention to the front of the grille. The emblem should be tilted forward with a gap between it and the grille at the top of the emblem. Use your fingers at the gap and pull the emblem towards you and it will pop free.

No need to use a screwdriver.

 

got it uot and just finished painting it looks 100% better than chrome
