Wow OP, very impressive that you took the time (TIME) to RESEARCH all options. Calling, talking, and no doubt previous off road experience is what brought you to this point. I can relate in many ways, and hopefully will be able to fund a similar high dollar project in the future. Thankfully I've had the opportunity to ride in a properly set up LT truck, and then a poorly set up TC LT on an old Nissan. It really does come down to valving... glad to hear DMZ was a success in your case. Congrats and enjoy!! I'm a step behind you, but one day will get to this point.

What is the next step in this build? Supercharger, Currie 9", roll cage? I am really excited to see what you have Tim to do this truck next.

That is one sick looking truck. If/when I get LT I want a bed cage like that.

Tim at DMZ in Norco, CA is the only guy that does it. He know his stuff!
I do a lot of camping and this bed is the ticket.

BTW, I looked into superchargers/blowers, but the gas consumption is quite high. Obviously, this reduces the driving range of the truck - not good when camping deep in the backcountry. Unless evidence convinces me otherwise, I will not be putting a supercharger on it. It's a pity because I would love to have a supercharger when driving at higher elevations. Unless something breaks, I think I'm done except for a tire change when these are worn. It should have a roll cage, given the off-road speeds it's capable of, but I will not be racing it. Hopefully, I'm mature enough to not drive beyond my abilities, and maintain a margin of error.

    Regards,

    Chris

I would love to disprove this, in my findings verses a stock truck if you are able to keep the rpms under 2.5k with the sc and instead of downshifting it uses boost to maintain/increase your speed my gas mileage increased. It makes it quite reasonable as a daily driver, and once the novelty of the supercharger wore off now I can get better gas mileage than stock. In the desert this may not be the case but these are at least my findings.

While we're at it, the team over at Performance Motorsports in Las Vegas did mine well too. Their support and patience were rocking.

In re: the tuning sessions near LA or Barstow are of interest. It'd be nice to have some more advise and expertise with tuning the shocks in. I'll look for the next Kings meeting.

    Thx

He said "It was not inexpensive". The "not" and the "in" cancel each out so basically he is saying..... It was expensive.

I can see a ballpark estimate of around 15-20k. Labor and parts. Those king shocks are not cheap and neither is fabrication work.

great build... it's clear no corners were cut. as far as the supercharger... you would most likely see an increase in MPG's if you keep your foot out of it. the motor only has to work half as hard when building boost from 100rpm's.

looks like good work. I really like how you left the bed functional and the cage and shocks only minimally invade the cargo space.
