    Hey all...

    Quick question:

Is there any real difference between the 4x2 regular cab and the regular cab prerunner other than the overall height and the 16 inch wheels?

Can I create a "PreRunner" out of my truck with a lift and 16 inch wheels?

    Thanks muchly.

    getting there....
you may be able to get close, but there are still alot of things, like locker for the offroad/lsd for the sport, electrical outlet in the bed, differences like these. it would probably be cheaper to get a prerunner with everything already there.

As said you could get close, or something in between, height wise, which may appeal to some. The PreRunner is basically a 4wd chassis with the front drive components deleted. A lot of sport-utes have been built this way for years, but it is not as noticeable as it is with the Tacomas since 4wd Tacomas sit fairly high and have large tires/wheels as standard, as well as large wheel wells. The 5 lug Tacomas have spring under axle rear suspension, and a similar, but somewhat lower/less travel front suspension with much smaller tires.

    Window tint...more to come
unholycumulus, that is not necessarily true. I have a prerunner, and only have the LSD, not the locker. The rear locker is an additional option.
