Especially if you add soap trays to the bottom of your skids :p

I buy vehicle accessories pretty much the same way I buy vehicles - I didn't buy a GM vehicle because I know too many people they've let down, and I'm going the same route with All-Pro.

Maybe in time they can change my mind. If you like it, I'm happy for you. Enjoy it.

Soap trays made from 1/4" thick steel. Stupid differential drops...

Funny story: Lurry and I got together last week, measured ride heights and eyeballed the CVs. I'm riding a hair higher than he is and my CV angles are actually slightly looser.

And I quote "Shit, maybe I was wrong about all that diff drop stuff."

I don't blame him one bit for leaving it on though - he's already blown a boot, and nothing short of a tank round is getting through his front skid. He also shaved it down for added clearance.

For now, I'm running without and we'll see what happens.

    :D

I'm still in the process of repairing damage. Taking lots of pictures along the way to do a detailed write-up, but at the moment I'm at this point:

Hope to have everything back together in the next few days. :)

You use your shit, that wasn't directed at you. It's my generic response to the keyboard wheelers here who parrot opinions they've seen others post in lieu of using their own experience (or just not posting on something they have little experience with).

I've beat my AP skid hard pretty consistently over the past couple of years without issue. Granted I don't hit shit rocks at 20 MPH, but I've had more abrupt stops courtesy of an underestimated rock than I can recount.

Everybody makes pretty good stuff. I've mangled the BB skids just as bad as people have mangled other brands.

Indestructible is not possible. Close to indestructible comes with a lot of weight. Everything's a trade-off.

(diff drop modification or not, my skids are shot)

Not to thread jack, but does anyone know if the Bud Builts for a 1st gen are good? From what I hear they are.

That's because we know how to drive our trucks out West! ;)

But in all seriousness, even you admitted our skid did it's job. I've never blown a CV or had any ill effect from our parts because we keep them as light as possible while providing the needed protection. I've taken my trucks through 2 Hammers trails without breakage or damage, but it doesn't hurt that I have my boss, a world champion rock crawler, as my spotter! Tire placement is key.

Haha you don't wanna call Sarah out on wheeling. You're not going to win that one.

I'd work the "you beat the hell out of AP products, but you work there, so if you break it you just get it replaced for free" angle before that one.

    That's uncalled for.

She has the right to defend her company, especially against some of the posters here who have never been offroad, yet criticize AP products they have no use for.
