Do you have any idea how many people run 265's on a 3" lift solely because someone didn't want to trim a little plastic? About 4 dozen I'd guess.

haha....not sure how i got flamed over this! My point was simply that 33x12.50"s dont fit with a 3" lift!....not that you cant "make" them fit!! cheers!

And you can make 44"s work with a 3" lift as well.....but that will require additional work!.....Im starting to get the pulse of this forum! :)

Can anyone think of and recommend a 33x12.5r17. my 285/70r17s just arent cutting it for me anymore. look too small. would love to get a 295/70r17 but tire selection is limited and what is out there is $$$$.

I'm running the 285/17s (BFG A/Ts) with a 3" lift and they rub when turning over a bump much worse than I find acceptable (mud flap area). I'm scratching my head trying to figure out how I'm going to tolerate this because I like to womp.

If you run 33 12.5 17s with stock wheels would a 1.25 or 2 inch wheel spacer help with whatever rubbing you're getting?

I'm not trying to dispute you here in any way really but having worked on several of these trucks myself and having owned 2. I can say I've had 285/70/17's on 9" wheels with a 2 1/2 " lift no CMC just snipped the bottom corners of the flares and no rubbing off road. I've had 255/80/17's on Tundra wheels on the current truck with stock suspension with only minor plastic rubbing and no cmc or trimming and now on the same truck with 3" lift and still no cmc no rubbing at all off road. While I respect your opinion, and I do, my experience has been different.

If it's in the area of the flare have you trimmed the bottom corner of the flare? very easy to do yyou only need a utillity knife.
