ok the outlet in the bed of the truck

What size and brand of compressor did you use?

 

I used it to run a drop light and a fan when I had to enter a below grade vault. I have also used it to recharge cordless tool batteries that I use when setting up my hunting stands. I think it provides some value in odd situations.

 

portable air pump for an air mattress while camping, and a coffee maker while camping...

 

usually a small radio of sorts when we go to the drive-ins, tried (just for the heck of it) to use it for the vacuum when i was cleaning the truck today but draw was too much and it shut off...oh well, it was worth a shot lol

 

I tapped off the wires at the inverter and use the 2 outlets in the cab for all kinds of stuff while on the road. Mostly charging phones or the occasional laptop.

You guys who have used it for different tools, Have you kept the truck running? Or just run things off the battery?

 

i think it only works if the truck is running....
everytime i used mine it was running

 

I think you have to have your truck running if I remember correctly.

 

I use my compressor all the time. Works great

 

It will work without truck running but you have to have ign. switch on. This combination will drain your battery if you leave it on too long. Ask me how I know.

 

i tried a craftsman pancake compressor and it didnt work.so i can only assume my sump pump would run off of it if my power went out.

 

I lost my cig phone charger- brought the home charger camping for 4 days. Charged the phone and it worked great! How's it go- 100w if in the on position and 400w if truck is fully on and running? I forget.

 

Ha ha, I kind of figured it would run that battery down. I'm not a fan of just running the truck to use the plug. Unless I really had to. I was just wondering, cause I wondered if it worked for one off the battery, and how long would you use it off the battery. I just wouldn't want to waist the gas to use it, like I said unless I had to. Emergency or what not.

 

I think its 400w idle in park, and 100w while in gear.
